Strolling through the mean streets of Daikanyama, we decided to take a break outside of this vintage shop.

I have always liked this neighborhood because one of my favorite restaurants is here: Hacienda del Cielo.

Finding good Mexican food in Tokyo isn’t easy but the company that makes Hacienda also has a couple other good Mexican spots (one in Harajuku and one in Hibiya). I guess this blog post is now officially about Mexican food so I may as well expound upon that. Casa de Sarasa (in Shibuya)… the only Mexican place I know that has horchata. They also have jalapeño poppers and a plethora of tequilas. Taco Fanatico (in Nakameguro) is a favorite of mine as well. A few minutes walk from the house and they also let Umi chill with me while I eat.

Umi is the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel in the picture and video. I call him Prints Hairy. Back to the food…

Guzman y Gomez is probably my favorite Mexican spot in Tokyo. They have 3 or 4 locations but I prefer the one in Shibuya. They don’t bother me if I walk in with a bottle of wine. In fact, they’ll give me a cup to pour it in. And the food there is right. I’m a bit mad that they took away the fish option (since fish is the only meat I eat). But the veggie burritos and enchiladas are perfect. Wahoo’s Tacos. This is a chain that I would often go to in California. Glad to see there’s one out here in the Odaiba area. It’s on the top of the shopping mall and has a little skatepark attached to it.
